How do i change out a car sub amp that is connected to an capacitor and install a higher wattage amp?

You need to drain the power out of it. Disconnect the battery, and then get a light (DC) and connect it to the capacitor. Eventually the light will dim and then go out completely. At this point, you can replace the amp. Wire-up the amp to the cap, and then re-connect your battery. How do i change out a car sub amp that is connected to an capacitor and install a higher wattage amp?Disconnect the battery.

The cap doesn't work like a battery. Without the battery there is no power in it. Nothing to hurt you. After that you are set on removing stuff.

When in doubt disconnect the battery. How do i change out a car sub amp that is connected to an capacitor and install a higher wattage amp?OMG that guy is telling you very bad info!!!!!! The cap STILL has power in it! Disconnect the ground on the cap as well as the car battery and you will be fine... when you are done replacing the amp you can place the grounds back on

Good luck!
