For example:

1. When logged in as Administrator, press Ctrl-Alt-Del, click the %26quot;Change %26gt; Password%26quot; button, and change the password.

-- or --

2. Open Active Directory Users and Computers, find the Administrator object, right-click on it and select %26quot;Reset Password.%26quot;

Note that option 1 is preferred, as option 2 forces the password to be reset, which can cause the account to lose access to encrypted files and potentially other data.Can anyone tell me how to change the administrators password on my laptop so i can install programs?First things first. Are there multiple accounts on your laptop? If there are you have to log in with the Admin account and change your account to an admin account. If you are the only account on your laptop you have to add yourself to the Administrators group. If you do not have the password for the admin account and it is a work laptop your going to have to ask them to give you a temporary admin account with password so you can install the programs. The account they setup with expire in X number of days. Whatever they set it too. Or you have to have them do the install. There is no other way. Unless you can find out the admin password and just use it when you need to do installs.Can anyone tell me how to change the administrators password on my laptop so i can install programs?If it's your machine, you would have the administrators rights and there's no need to change your password. I'd guess it isn't your machine, so you need to ask whoever does have admin rights.
