If I change my motherboard will I have to re-install/re-activate Windows XP?

I've been having system stability problems and at this point the only things I haven't changed out are the motherboard and processor. I'm suspecting the motherboard and am planning on replacing it. Currently I have an ECS KN1 LSI Lite and I am thinking of replacing it with an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. I've heard that such a radical change in hardware will require at least a re-activation of WIndows XP Pro and at most a complete re-install. What have been your experiences with this?If I change my motherboard will I have to re-install/re-activate Windows XP?Yes you will have to. New boards work with a fresh installed OS. Otherwise it will give errors and not even get into windows. If it was the same board that you were replacing then yo wouldnt..... I burned up my MSI board and bout a new one the same model and it loaded windows perfectly. If I change my motherboard will I have to re-install/re-activate Windows XP?if u change ur mother board u have to re install ur os since ur hard disk n mother board are coded by the bios so u have to reload ur windows os after changing ur mother boardIf I change my motherboard will I have to re-install/re-activate Windows XP?no just change %26amp; put the old hard drive on itIf I change my motherboard will I have to re-install/re-activate Windows XP?YEP! I had to have a mobo repaired, backed up to a second onboard HDD with Norton Ghost. Bench tested the mobo and reinstalled it. Moved the drive data back to the original HDD from the second HDD. had to re-install/re-activate Win XP even though the hardware configuration were the same as before the repair. If I change my motherboard will I have to re-install/re-activate Windows XP?You will definitely need to re-install Windows XP. It shouldn't require a re-activation with Microsoft. I just happened to do this yesterday. :-)If I change my motherboard will I have to re-install/re-activate Windows XP?yes as it is a signifcant change to the system it should not need a reinstall of windows but you will need to reactivate the o/s again
