No.

Download new drivers from Dell. (Graphics or display adapter)

Right click desktop, properties, and change the resolution. That should do it.Dell GX260 need to change resolution somebody told me to install the drive from the net where I can find it?What the heck????????????????

You should be able to just right click on the desktop (XP) and choose PROPERTIES and then go to the SETTINGS tab to change the screen resolution. If this is Vista, you need to go into Control Panel and then change the settings there.

Here are instructions on how to do it in Vista:

Here is how to change the screen resolution in XP:

Now, if neither of these works, there may be an administrative rights problem. Are you using a LIMITED USER RIGHTS ACCOUNT? One that does not allow you to change things? If so, you need to talk to the person who can log on to your computer with full admin rights.

The other problem may be the actual video hardware or the driver.

Try updating the video driver first and see if that does not change things. ATI and nVidia both have their own tweeking programs, ATI has what is called Catalyst and nVidia has what is called nTune. Go to the appropriate graphics site (after identifying which manufacturer card you have) and download the appropriate program, either Catalyst or nTune and then use that program to change the screen resolution.

If that does not work and none of the other suggestions work, you might have a faulty video card that needs to be replaced.
