Hey guys, i am about to install windows on my new computer and i am wondering if there is a way that i can transfer all my data over from my current laptop hard drive to the new desktop PC hard drive and not have to install all my programs again.
Cheers.How can i change computers, hard drives, etc and not have to install everything?Sorry but you cannot just 'pick them up' and move them - You can place as much as you can on a flash drive and transfer it that way or burn the programs that you want to keep onto a CD and install from there -
You cannot 'direct link' the 2 together and transfer the items -How can i change computers, hard drives, etc and not have to install everything?You can copy the data (documents and so on) in a number of different ways (via thumb drives, CDs, network shares, to name a few). Programs have to be installed - there are pieces in a lot of places, not just files.
