I have a tiny bathroom & would like to install a small bath. How simple is it to change the arrangement?

I want to move the toilet and change the position of the sink. I would also need to put the shower head onto a different wall. I only have a cubicle just now, but want to fit a bath onto the back wall.I have a tiny bathroom %26amp; would like to install a small bath. How simple is it to change the arrangement? The biggest consideration is the type of construction you currently have.

If you have a basement or pier and beam then all of the plumbing can be changed with minimum of problems other that material and labor.

If you have a concrete slab on grade then the sewer line can become a major item to change since it is buried under the slab and will take more effort to move to the new location.

As previously suggested, a plumber or expert re-modeler are the only ones who can really assess your problem.I have a tiny bathroom %26amp; would like to install a small bath. How simple is it to change the arrangement?it really depends on where all the plumbing is

Best bet is to ask a plumber for expert adviceI have a tiny bathroom %26amp; would like to install a small bath. How simple is it to change the arrangement?Thats not a difficult job, any plumber worth his salt will do that for you.I have a tiny bathroom %26amp; would like to install a small bath. How simple is it to change the arrangement? If you have not carried out DIY plumbing work at all it would be quite a learning curve. If it is to be DIY I suggest you buy a DIY manual. They will cover basic plumbing. It's not rocket science as they say, but you need a thought through plan of work.

It may be helpful to know, if you are short of space, that a corner bath will fit against a short wall if need be. They come in many different configurations. Also you can even buy 'shower tubs' which are just 1200 mm long. Standard baths are 1700 mm approximately. When moving the toilet, unless you can get a straightforward pipe run to the old connection, you can get flexible connectors these days which can overcome problems.

Look at the Screwfix catalogue. Visit Plumber's Merchants for their catalogues (not brochures), DIY stores, speak to the Plumbing Adviser at B %26amp; Q and you will have a better idea of what is available. Happy plumbing!
