Hi, I need to change coolant temp sensor, I have the new sensor . Today I asked pepboys to change, they want $85 for install, I think, it is unbelievably expensive for only installing a part. Anyway, if anyone know how to do, please give me directions.
Thank you.How to change coolant temperature sensor on a 98 corolla ve?i own a shop,and we,ll just save you 85 bucks today,,you,ll need to drain some of the coolant out of it so you don't loose it when you take the sensor out,,drain at least a gallon or more of it out,,once you have done this ,tighten the drain plug back ,and disconnect the wire from it,,and get a wrench or socket that will fit it,and unscrew it out of its place,,when you put the new one back in,,use about two wraps of thread sealant tape on it,,and install it back in..tighten it good ,refill it,and hook the wire back up,and your done,,your 85 bucks richer too,good luck hope this help,s,have a good x-mas.,,PS remove the battery cable for a minute or two ,and it might clear off the trouble code also,,good luck.
