If I change my motherboard for a newer model, do I need to re-install Vista from scratch?

I am about to change my motherboard because my current one is rubbish. I have Vista Home Premium already installed on my hard-drive. When I swap the motherboard over, will Vista carry on running as normal, or will I need to do a re-install? Thanks in advanceIf I change my motherboard for a newer model, do I need to re-install Vista from scratch? All the YES answers are correct. Since Windows XP, Microsoft has designed their OS - operating system (Windows) to take into account each hardware that is installed in the PC. The information becomes part of the registration of the OS. Once you change any major component such as hard disk or motherboard, or you move the hard disk into a different but similar PC, your copy of Windows that is installed on the hard disk will not work well (if at all). Windows will deem it as an unlicensed installation of the OS and many functions will not become available. This is the reason why in XP, you are allowed to register your copy of Windows twice online. The third time onwards, you have to do it via phone to a live technician. Same thing for Vista, you are allowed to register online a maximum of 5 times. If I change my motherboard for a newer model, do I need to re-install Vista from scratch? These answers are wrong. Use the Vista Sysprep util. you can image your drive this way without rehashing system drivers. Just reinstall drivers after mobo swap. Done it many times for clients. Search MSDN for your answers..not here.
