I have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission?

The oil pan is off. I had a bad connecting rod. I sent for a rebuilt crank and rod and new bearings.I have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission?you will definitely have to separate engine and trans (engine being the easiest to remove since your working with that part of vehicle)the trans is connected to the back of the crank. That's how the trans basically receives output from the engine to move the vehicleI have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission? No it is not possible. Attached to the transmission end is either a fly wheel or a flex-plate. There is no way to unfasten this component with the engine still bolted to the transmission.I have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission?the fly wheel is bolted to the crank, so yes you have to pull the trans or the engineI have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission?you'll have to separate the motor and tranny, and be able to remove the flywheel. That usually means the motor comes out.I have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission?NO, you need to remove the transmission. the torque converter is attached to the flywheel which is attached to the crankshaft.
